NEW YORK FASHION WEEK FALL 2012 : ANNA SUI
OMG we loved this show. Total 70′s flashback and the variety of the collection really expanded for Sui with amazing gowns at the end. LOVE!!! GRADE : A +++
NEW YORK FASHION WEEK FALL 2012 : J. MENDEL
Modern luxury at it’s best! We loved this show. GRADE : A
NEW YORK FASHION WEEK FALL 2012 : MARC BY MARC JACOBS LADIES COLLECTION : MARCH OF THE WOODEN SOLDIERS
This was a slant on winter nautical with a red lipped wooden soldier parody that had both 20′s and 50′s references. This felt more like the origins of the beginning of Marc by Marc and you can see a blur begin with materials being leveraged between his other brands. We liked the show a lot and want to buy a lot! GRADE : A
NEW YORK FASHION WEEK FALL 2012 : DONNA KARAN
This was quite a surprise showing for Donna coming off  several seasons of very one note esoteric collections like last seasons exploded African motifs that are really not for everybody, or anybody for that matter. The silhouettes and draping was reminiscent of her first collections and coupled with the 80′s edge and the Scottish equestrian sensibility made for a very beautiful show. We loved the royal wedding hats! GRADE: A
NEW YORK FASHION WEEK FALL 2012 : PREEN
We are huge fans of Preen. They design to the beat of their own drum… thankfully. Pattern play and blocking continue and the show went into manny notes including vintage florals, intarsia sweaters and monochromtics. The signature lace and overlays ended the show beautifully and although modern there is always something old fashioned in the construction. GRADE : B+
NEW YORK FASHION WEEK FALL 2012 : PRABAL GURUNG
This was a show of dark versus light. The designer did not move on from last seasons’s financially successful endeavor, but rehashed the silhouette and pattern to push more forward. We did not love the effect that this had and wished his innovation and talent would have given birth to something new.
